A-R is proud to have teachers who show up for students outside of the classroom. Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Gourley threw out a ceremonial tball 1st pitch to one of her students Gracen Feerst on Saturday during AKLL opening day!

We are thankful for our local Emergency Responders for sharing this experience with us yesterday. The presentation made an impact on our students and we hope that the experience is one that they will remember and carry with them. Thank you, Chief Barolicius for organizing this event for our Junior and Senior students.

John Jay Guthrie passed away in October of 2020. He was a member of Armstrong County Farm Bureau. The family asked that the donations be used to fund an Aglab visit at our school. Mrs. Guthrie joined us today to kick off Ag Lab week!
We are thankful for this donation!!!

“Secrets & Safes”
Ms. Stahls Project lead the Way Computer Science 2 class showed off their secrets and safes project this afternoon.
Tasked with programming an alarm system to keep their precious items safe, the students used their creativity and microbits to execute the project.

The middle school Leo club sponsored a lock-in on March 9. We are donating $500 to Beacon Lodge!!!

First Grade and Pre-K collected money in February to donate to 2 local animal shelters, Indiana County Humane Society and Four Footed Friends of Indiana. The collection was called "Pennies for Pets". The kids and staff collected $204 to split evenly between the two shelters.

A-R Band Traveled to Nashville! Students enjoyed recording in Studio B, line dancing, playing outside of the Grand Ole Opry, good food, and making amazing memories!

Ms. Freno’s secondary art students are enjoying the ☀️ sunshine and fresh air! They are using chalk to create art celebrating 🌍 earth day!

Maddie Smoyer (captain), Mirabella Andree, and Olivia Massari won the Duquesne University Academic Challenge (DUAC), beating the other seven teams from neighboring schools including Armstrong, North Catholic, and Penn Hills with a total score of 633 points - the second-place team scored 596 overall.

Dr. Curci, Superintendent, serves breakfast in the elementary school for National School Breakfast Week 2023!

Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition Apollo-Ridge competitors received a first place award and will be able to move on to the state competition at Penn State University! 2022-2023 Ski Club

Miss Wenckowski's forensics class ended the semester with a unit on arson. Students learned about burn patterns and arson investigation. Students constructed a building, committed arson and covered up their crime with a valid story. They then analyzed another structure and interviewed the structure's owners to complete an arson investigation of their own.

Students in Ms. Stahl’s Automation & Robotics class designed and programmed car robots-Hummingbird Projects. They had to design a vehicle that had lights, sensors that track obstacles, and could move in all different directions. #ARHS #ARSD BirdBrain Technologies LLC.

The mole is a unit of measure in chemistry. It is equal to the value 6.022 x10^23 so we celebrate Mole Day on Oct 23rd. Chemistry students made Mole themed projects to celebrate.

The 3rd grade students in Mr. Mazurek's Social Studies classes concluded their unit on continents and oceans by making paper plate maps showing the location of each continent and ocean.

Three Apollo-Ridge students competed on Hometown High-Q on CBS. They competed in multiple trivia rounds against Mohawk and Greensburg Central Catholic schools. The show will be aired on CBS November 5th at 11:00 and November 12th at 11:30.
