PJAS (Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) held the state competition at Penn State University May 15th -17th , a follow-up to the regional competition held at Slippery Rock University in February. Kate Myers, a senior at Apollo-Ridge, scored a 1st place at regionals and moved on to present her scientific findings at the state level, receiving another 1st place award on Monday. Congratulations, Kate!

Two Apollo-Ridge students competed at the PJAS Regionals (Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) competition at Slippery Rock. Kate Myers and Nathan Kavulic created and presented their own individual science projects. Nathan received a 2nd place award; Kate received a 1st place award as well as a Slippery Rock department award in the category of psychology, in the amount of $100.00.
