Apollo-Ridge School District
Curriculum Overview

The Apollo-Ridge School District is proud to offer a strong curriculum taught by highly qualified professional staff members, preparing our students for higher education and the global workplace. Using data to make informed decisions on instructional strategies, teachers use best practices to differentiate instruction and meet the individual needs of all learners.

Content for all subject areas is based on meeting the Pennsylvania Academic Standards. The standards were reviewed and devloped through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). All planned courses reflect instruction leading to the attainment and mastery of each standard, and teachers and instructional staff utilize their professional talents and provided resources to accomplishment of this goal.

Recently PDE has unveiled the Standards Aligned System (SAS) in an effort to provide consistency across the state with regard to curriculum and assessment, as well as provide a useful tool for schools to access resources, activities, and valued information to guide instruction. Among the many useful new webpages, the link below will take you to the new SAS page that allows users to find PA Academic Standards for all content areas. Users may view standards for a specific grade level or grade "band", which includes multiple grade levels. The standards made available are awaiting final action by the Department of Education, and are voluntary for Pennsylvania school districts. By clicking on the link, you will leave the Apollo-Ridge School District site and enter the PDE site.
