Mr. Gary W. Davis
While the Apollo-Ridge
School District conducts its search for a superintendent
upon the retirement of Dr. Michael J. Vranesevic, Mr. Davis
has agreed to step in as acting superintendent. Mr.
Davis was last appointed as acting principal of the High
School until Mr. Clark arrived.
In addition to his duties
as acting superintendent, Mr. Davis has also taken on the
duties of Director of Transportation for the Apollo-Ridge
School District.

Ms. Lynne Snyder
Ms. Lynne A.
Snyder began serving as the Director of Curriculum,
Instruction and Assessment for the Apollo-Ridge School
District in December of 2004. Her career as an educator
began as an English teacher in the Armstrong School
District, where she also later served as a Special Projects
Coordinator, a classroom teacher for third grade and
kindergarten, and a Professional Development Coordinator.
Her first administrative position was as the Program
Coordinator responsible for Special Education, Federal
Programs and Curriculum in the Line Mountain School District
(north of Harrisburg). In 1997, she assumed the position of
Assistant Principal for Brockway Elementary in Jefferson
County, and then, in 2001, she became the Specialist for
Curriculum and Staff Development at the Riverview
Intermediate Unit in Clarion.
Ms. Snyder is a graduate of Dayton High School, in the
Armstrong School District, and received both her Bachelor of
Science degree in English Education and her Master of
Education degree in Elementary Education from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania. She has also completed the
requirements for Supervisory Certification in Curriculum and
Instruction (K-12) and Elementary Principal Certification
through the University of Pittsburgh and for the
Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility through Westminster
College

Ms.
Kathleen Smathers Mrs.
Kathleen Smathers currently serves as the Director of
Food and Nutrition Services. Her career in food service spans 11
years, and she joined the Apollo-Ridge School District in 1997. She has
also administred the food service programs in the Penns Manor and
Blairsville-Saltsburg school districts. She worked as a nutritionist for the
Women, Infants and Children program for one year.
Mrs. Smathers received her bachelor of science degree in
dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986. She became a
Master Instructor in school food service for the Pennsylvania Department
of Education in 1998. |
