  Young Writers Institute of Western PA

    The Young Writers Institute offers writers grades 3-12 creative writing workshops in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and memoir. Students work with teachers who are fellows of the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project, or instructors from the Creative Writing Program in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh. 

    Students are instructed in free writing, revision, editing, and the use of computers in writing and publishing. Here, in a community of writers, they can challenge themselves, getting and giving feedback on new and revised writing. The teacher/student ratio of 2:15 allows for individual conferences.
