Dear
Parent/Guardian,
This
course book has been developed as a guide to assist students and their parents
in selecting courses that best support the students educational and career
goals. Prior to selecting courses for
the up-coming school year, please utilize this course book to facilitate
discussion with your child regarding his/her goals. It may be helpful to consider the following areas during this
decision making process:
1.
Your childs interests;
2.
Your childs areas of strengths and/or skills;
3.
The relationship of your childs interests and skills to
various occupations and career paths; and
4.
The courses or sequence of courses to support your childs
career choice.
If you have a question or concern, please contact our
guidance department to obtain additional assistance during this process at any
time.
For your convenience, we have outlined
two suggested course sequences as well as corresponding electives that should
provide a solid foundation for your childs future. It is important to recognize that as your son or daughter
progresses through high school his/her educational and career goals and
interests may vary. Likewise, the
selected course sequence may need to be revisited, as your childs needs
change.
I look forward to serving you and your
child during the next school year.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
Sincerely,
James F. Thimons, Principal
